January's newsletter has a short article written by yours truly, nothing special really just about some of the things you can do with Sitefinity's newsletter module. The article is below or you can view it at it's source here.

Tired of maintaining your email subscriber lists? Mail merge got you down? Getting burned by monthly email marketing fees? A great alternative is the newsletter module in Telerik’s Sitefinity Content Management System (CMS).

Sitefinity has a no hassle, no monthly fee newsletter module that can help your business keep your clients informed of company happenings, current promotions or even holiday greetings. The module gives you the ability to have an unlimited number of distribution/subscriber lists containing an unlimited number of contacts in each list.

With the Sitefinity newsletter module you can use robust html templates that can be saved and reused in future mailings. With your templates you can insert fields for subscriber information and provide an automated unsubscribe link if needed. If you’re not ready to send that newsletter out yet you can easily save it as a draft to send it out at a later date.

Before sending out a mailing Sitefinity allows you to email it to a test contact or display it in a separate window to be sure it displays and reads exactly the way you intended it to. When a mailing is sent out, it can be sent to one or more subscriber lists and the progress of the mailing is displayed in an easy to see list outlining any errors the process may have encountered. This feature is great because it allows you to update your subscriber lists, removing old contacts easily.

The best feature of the newsletter module is having the ability to harvest contacts directly from your Sitefinity site right into a specified subscriber list without user interaction. No more costly double entry. The newsletter module can be customized to push new subscribers directly into your sales lead system or other customer relationship management software packages. With Sitefinity being built on Microsoft’s .Net Framework it also provides painless integration opportunities with Microsoft products like Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft SharePoint.
